Agreement is imminent between Real Madrid officials and Raul Asensio to renew his contract in the coming period following his remarkable brilliance with the first team.
Asensio played for the first time with the royal club last December when Eder Militao suffered a cruciate ligament injury, and his role has increased significantly over the past two months.
The 21-year-old has become a key player for coach Carlo Ancelotti, especially after injuries struck many players, the latest of whom was Antonio Rudiger.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the renewal negotiations between Real Madrid and Asensio began in December, and now in February they have reached very advanced stages.
The Spanish club’s management is very impressed with the way he deals with pressure, and how he has developed and adopted a strong style that exceeds his age and experience, so he has become the cornerstone of Real’s future project.
As for the player, he is also very happy with the way Real Madrid, whether technical or administrative staff or the fans, are treating him, and he does not intend to leave despite receiving more than one offer for him recently.
It remains to be noted that Asensio has so far played 20 matches for Real Madrid in all tournaments, and achieved the Intercontinental Cup title with Ancelotti’s squad.
