Real Madrid’s recent statements about refereeing in the Spanish league have been strongly condemned by Sevilla president José María del Nido Carrasco.
Real Madrid sent a strongly worded statement to the Spanish Federation against the refereeing, and the royal club’s channel did not stop attacking the referees with all its might.
Del Nido considered Real Madrid’s statements “unacceptable and impermissible”, stressing that they question the integrity of the referees and the competition itself.
Del Nido said in press statements on the eve of the Barcelona match in La Liga, “Real Madrid’s statements question the integrity of the referees, the world of football must condemn this publicly and legally, it threatens the integrity of football.”
He also added, “Real Madrid is trying to destroy Spanish football. They have been doing it for a long time through Real Madrid TV and other methods.”
He concluded, “We cannot tolerate a club the size of Real Madrid trying to tear us apart.”
It is noteworthy that Sevilla also has a very tense relationship with Barcelona due to their position on the Catalan club in the case of bribing the vice-president of the referees committee, Negreira.
