Emam Ashour continued his brilliance with Al-Ahly this season, after scoring a goal that led the Red Devils to a 1-0 victory over Ghazl El-Mahalla in the 13th round of the Egyptian League.
The goal was a relatively new way for Ashour, as he scored it from a free kick in the 55th minute.
Emam Ashour refused to celebrate his goal out of respect for Ghazl El-Mahalla fans, as the famous club is the club where he started his football career before moving to Zamalek, then Midtjylland and returning to Al-Ahly.
Thanks to the victory, Al-Ahly temporarily topped the Egyptian League standings with 29 points, 3 points ahead of third-placed Zamalek, and 2 points ahead of Pyramids, with one less match for the Blue Club.
