Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior believes the banner raised by Manchester City fans against him was one of the reasons for his brilliance in the two teams’ Champions League match.
Before the match, the fans raised a banner with a picture of Rodri with the Golden Ball and a message to Vinicius “Stop crying”.
After Real Madrid’s 3-2 win at the Etihad Stadium, Vinicius responded by saying “Every time the opposing fans do inappropriate things in front of me, it motivates me more”.
He added “It happened here, I had a great match today thanks to this motivation”.
Vinicius closed the door on the possibility of leaving Real Madrid, as he answered a question about the Saudi offer “Ask President Perez about it”.
He concluded “I hope I can stay here. This is my home, and I want to continue making history”.
