Al-Hilal coach Jorge Jesus is facing a very heavy penalty from the Disciplinary Committee of the Saudi Football Association following his recent statements against refereeing.
Al-Hilal tied with Al-Riyadh 1-1, after which the Portuguese coach went out and launched a major attack on the referee of the match and insulted the head of the referees committee, Manuel Navarro.
According to what Dr. Ayman Al-Rifai, head of the Disciplinary Committee, confirmed, Jesus committed 3 violations that expose him to a heavy penalty that will be announced soon.
The first violation was insulting the referee of the match, while the other was insulting the head of the referees committee, and the most serious is what is considered “provoking public opinion”.
The laws stipulate in this case that Jesus is punished with the most severe penalty, which is provoking public opinion, and thus he is subject to a large fine that may reach 100 thousand Saudi riyals, with the possibility of being suspended for a number of matches.
Jesus had also criticized the refereeing last week after the 2-2 draw with Damac, and with the recurrence of the incident, it becomes necessary for the Disciplinary Committee to intervene and punish him.
With Al-Hilal’s draw with Al-Riyadh, the Blue Wave reached 48 points in second place, and in the event that Al-Ittihad wins its match this round, the difference between the two teams will become 4 points in favor of Al-Ameed.
