Tebas responds to the possibility of Real Madrid moving to another league

La Liga president Javier Tebas has mocked the news that Real Madrid is considering moving to another league after the recent events in the Spanish league.

Spanish media reported that the injustice Real Madrid is being subjected to in refereeing has made Florentino Perez’s administration consider moving to another European league.

Tebas stressed in media statements that the idea is not feasible for many legal reasons.

The president of La Liga said, “Real Madrid’s move to another league is impossible, and they know that very well.”

He also added, “There is a sports law that stipulates that Spanish clubs must play in the country’s national competitions on a mandatory basis.”

He concluded, “These are just threats within Real Madrid’s management strategy against La Liga and to put pressure on all parties. Let me ask you, if they leave, which league will they go to?”

Marca had revealed that Real Madrid had tried to move to the English Premier League a few years ago, but the Premier League rejected the idea at the time.
