Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta stressed that he and his team will not give up in the struggle for the English Premier League title until the last breath.
After Liverpool’s victory over Manchester City, the gap between the Reds and Arsenal widened to 11 points, with one more match for coach Arne Slot’s team.
Arteta commented on the idea that the Premier League has been decided and that he must give up by saying “over my dead body!”.
He also added, “If I stop believing that we can win the title this season, I’d better go home, it’s still mathematically possible.”
He continued, “If you want to win the Premier League title, you have to do something very special.”
He concluded, “If you want to win the title in the circumstances we have at Arsenal now, you have to do something that no one has ever done in the history of the competition.”
Arsenal are suffering from a number of injuries that have left them without a striker after Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli were injured.
Arsenal had the chance to reduce the gap with Arsenal to just 5 points, but Arteta’s squad was defeated in the London derby by West Ham 1-0 in the last round.
