The Olympic Stadium of Lluís Companys witnessed one of the most exciting matches this season, when Barcelona met Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Spanish King’s Cup.
The start of the match was unexpected, when Atletico Madrid took a two-goal lead through Julian Alvarez after 49 seconds and Antoine Griezmann in the sixth minute.
But this lead did not last long, as Barcelona managed to return with a goal from Pedri in the 19th minute, then Pau Coparsi scored the equalizer in the 21st minute.
Barcelona came out ahead at half-time thanks to a header from Inigo Martinez in the last minute of the first half, then Robert Lewandowski scored the fourth goal in the 74th minute.
Everyone thought that the job was over here after this comeback, but Atletico surprised everyone with a stronger comeback.
The start came in the 83rd minute when Marcos Llorente reduced the deficit, then the equalizer came in the 93rd minute through Alexander Sorloth.
The two teams will meet in the second leg next April, noting that the away goal rule is cancelled, and therefore either team must achieve victory to advance to the final match.
