Al-Ahly insists on postponing the summit due to the refereeing, otherwise it will withdraw!

Al-Ahly issued an official statement announcing that it will not play the match against Zamalek scheduled for Tuesday evening in the absence of foreign refereeing.

The Egyptian Football Association announced the appointment of Mahmoud Bassiouni as referee for the summit, which Al-Ahly rejects and insists that the referee be foreign.

In light of the impossibility of bringing in a foreign referee a few hours before the match, Al-Ahly issued a statement demanding that the match be postponed indefinitely.

Al-Ahly said in the statement, “We insist on postponing the match until we comply with the decision of the Professional Clubs Association that organizes the league competition, and the club’s desire to hold today’s match with a foreign refereeing crew; to provide justice between the competing clubs.”

He also added, “In the event of no response, Al-Ahly Club announces that it will not complete the league championship.”

So far, Zamalek has not responded to the matter, and the Clubs Association or the Egyptian Federation have not commented on Al-Ahly’s decisions.
