French star Paul Pogba finally returns to football competitions today, March 11, after a long suspension due to his proven use of doping.
The 2018 World Cup champion was scheduled to be suspended for four years after testing positive for testosterone in August 2023, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced his sentence to 18 months last November.
Pogba’s contract with Juventus extended until next summer, but the Italian club’s management refused his return and terminated the contract between the two parties by mutual consent.
With the end of the suspension period, the 32-year-old remains without a club so far, although he has been linked with a move to many clubs in Europe, America and Saudi Arabia.
There has been speculation about a possible return to Manchester United, a move to Marseille to join his former teammate Adrien Rabiot, or a more realistic move outside Europe to Saudi Arabia or the American League, but nothing has materialized so far.
Pogba is expected to try to play before the end of this season, or at most announce his new club at the start of next season.
