Former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez received an official offer from one of the clubs participating in the 2025 Club World Cup, but he rejected it.
According to Sport, this club is Mexican club Monterrey, which includes Spanish football legend and Real Madrid player Sergio Ramos.
Despite the financially significant offer, Xavi declined the opportunity, preferring a new club in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
It’s no secret that the prospect of participating in the 2025 Club World Cup was tempting for Xavi, but he remains determined to make his next experience in Europe and with a club with a long-term project.
Xavi had previously announced that he would return to coaching next season and did not rule out coaching again in La Liga with a club other than Barcelona.
It’s worth noting that the Catalan coach has been linked with several major clubs, most notably Manchester United, and Juventus is said to be considering him as their first choice should Thiago Motta leave at the end of the season.
