Shock: Al-Ahly suffers historic financial losses due to its withdrawal from the summit!

Al-Ahly will be forced to pay a record sum as a result of its withdrawal from the match against Zamalek in the Egyptian League last week.

The Red Devils justified their failure to attend Cairo Stadium by citing the fact that the match had not been refereed by a foreign referee, contrary to what was promised.

The Egyptian Football Association announced its decisions regarding the incidents, one of which was for Al-Ahly to bear all losses resulting from lost income from commercial and broadcast contracts.

According to the Egyptian press, Al-Ahly will have to pay at least 220 million Egyptian pounds, the total economic losses resulting from its absence from the summit.

The losses reached this figure for two reasons. First, the value of sponsorship and stadium advertisements that Al-Ahly receives is high, according to contracts and the sale of television broadcast rights. Second, the price of advertising minutes during Ramadan is three times the normal rate.

Al-Ahly referred the matter to the Egyptian Olympic Committee and filed a complaint against the association and the Egyptian Football Association. The Red Club and the association announced that they would respect the decision issued by the Olympic Committee’s Dispute Resolution Committee.
