Barcelona’s management has reached an initial agreement with Jules Kounde to renew his contract for another three years, until the summer of 2030.
This is according to Sport, which also indicated Kounde’s satisfaction with his role as right-back, contrary to what was reported in recent months.
Since the arrival of Hansi Flick, Kounde has become Barcelona’s undisputed first-choice right-back. Despite his desire to play as a center-back, he has accepted his new role.
Everyone at Barcelona is happy with Kounde’s performance, and the player himself is extremely satisfied with how things are going for him and does not believe he will be able to find peace of mind or sport at any other club other than the Blaugrana.
Under the terms of the renewal, Kounde will receive a modest salary increase and will be completely removed from Barcelona’s plans as a potential departure next summer.
It remains unknown whether the new contract will include a release clause as happened with Ronald Araujo, although it is expected to happen in a year or two from now.
