Barcelona star Raphinha has admitted that the idea of winning the Ballon d’Or has crossed his mind given his impressive performances across all competitions this season.
Raphinha has been involved in 48 goals in all competitions this season, making him a strong contender alongside Mohamed Salah and Ousmane Dembélé for the most prestigious individual award in world football.
Raphinha told Romario TV about the Ballon d’Or, “It’s only natural that it crosses my mind. If I said otherwise, I’d be lying.”
He added, “I try to put that aside and focus on my personal goals in my career, whether in terms of scoring goals, making assists, or winning titles.”
He continued, “I think that if I achieve all my dream goals (winning the treble with Barcelona) by the end of the season, the possibility of winning an individual award will be very high.”
He concluded, “But I don’t like to focus too much on the Ballon d’Or or any individual award, because thinking about it too much can become a distraction.”
Barcelona tops the Spanish league standings, has reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, will face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League quarter-finals, and has already won the Spanish Super Cup.
