Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has rejected suggestions he’s being downgraded to Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappé ahead of the Gunners’ highly anticipated Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid.
The England international was compared to Vinicius and Mbappé by reporters during the pre-match press conference, and he responded strongly, refusing to be considered inferior to either.
“I don’t want to say they’re at a higher level than me because I don’t really think so,” Saka said.
He added, “Winning the Ballon d’Or is definitely a big dream for me. It’s a dream for many players, and for me now, I’m working hard for my team and its success.”
He concluded, “I want to continue with Arsenal. I want to win trophies with this slogan. I still have two years left on my contract, and everyone is calm. There’s no need to panic.”
Saka has just returned from a hamstring injury that has kept him out since December. He scored in his first appearance against Fulham, before featuring in the London club’s draw with Everton last Saturday.
