It’s only a matter of time before Mohamed Salah officially announces his two-year contract at Liverpool after the player and the club reached an agreement on all the details.
The Sun newspaper revealed that Liverpool will grant Salah a salary increase, making him the highest-paid player ever at Anfield.
Salah currently earns £350,000 per week, and his salary will increase by £50,000 to £400,000 per week from next July until the summer of 2027.
This will bring the total salary the “Egyptian King” will earn with the Reds over two years to £42 million, making him one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League.
Despite the increase and the huge salary, Salah is far behind Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, the highest-paid player in the Premier League, whose weekly salary exceeds half a million pounds.
It’s worth noting that Virgil van Dijk will also receive a salary increase and will become Liverpool’s second-highest-paid player after Salah, while Alexander-Arnold rejected the offer, which was higher than the salary offered to him by Real Madrid.
