Two Coaches Poised to Lead Real Madrid in the 2025 Club World Cup

Carlo Ancelotti’s departure from Real Madrid is closer than ever, and the club’s internal consensus is that the Italian will not lead the team in the 2025 Club World Cup.

Florentino Pérez’s administration is reportedly poised to dismiss Ancelotti after the Copa del Rey final on April 26, and at the latest after the end of La Liga. Ancelotti will then be appointed as interim coach to lead the team in the Club World Cup.

According to a report from AS, there are two candidates being considered to temporarily lead Real Madrid in the Club World Cup: Santiago Solari or Raúl González.

Real Madrid legend Raúl has been coaching Castilla for years, making him an ideal choice to coach Los Blancos in the World Cup, given his familiarity with the inner workings of the Santiago Bernabéu.

However, Solari remains the closest in practice, given his close proximity to the first team and his administrative work with Ancelotti in recent months.

At the beginning of the year, Real Madrid’s management had decided on Solari as an interim coach in the event that Ancelotti was dismissed due to poor results, before the Italian was confirmed in the position after things improved.

Solari previously led Real Madrid in 2018 after Julen Lopetegui, but he left in March of the following year and was replaced by Zinedine Zidane.

It should be noted that Jürgen Klopp, the former Liverpool coach and current CEO of Red Bull Group, and Xabi Alonso, the Bayer Leverkusen coach, are among those who will take over at Real Madrid next season.
