La Liga Refuses to Help Barcelona in the Champions League!

La Liga rejected a request from Barcelona’s management to advance the match against Real Valladolid to better prepare the Catalans for the Champions League semi-final clash with Inter.

Barcelona is scheduled to play against Real Valladolid at 10:00 PM Mecca time, just a few days before the second leg of the semi-final against Inter.

Barcelona’s management wanted the match to be played earlier than 10:00 PM, a move that coach Hansi Flick had previously discussed, emphasizing that playing matches late would greatly harm his team.

But surprisingly, La Liga rejected the request and insisted on playing the match as scheduled, despite Barcelona’s involvement in the Inter match later that day and the importance of how an early start could help the Blaugrana in Europe.

The league justified its decision by stating that Barcelona had known about the match’s date since April 7, and that if they wanted to change it, they should have requested it no later than 14 days before the match, not now.

La Liga had previously rejected a similar request from Real Madrid ahead of their Champions League match against Arsenal to bring forward the start time of their match against Alaves, citing the same argument.
