Two disagreements between Raphinha and Barcelona in renewal negotiations!

Two fundamental disagreements are hindering Raphinha’s contract renewal negotiations with Barcelona: salary and the length of the new contract.

The Brazilian international has been brilliant for Barcelona this season, and has become a candidate to win the Ballon d’Or, prompting the club to move to secure his stay for as long as possible.

According to Sport, Raphinha rejected Barcelona’s first renewal offer because the salary, which he believes is not commensurate with his outstanding performance, is not consistent with his performance.

The second disagreement is Barcelona’s desire to extend the new contract for only one year with the option to extend for another year, while Raphinha wants a fixed two-year extension.

The only agreement between the two parties currently is an €80 million release clause, which will be activated after the 2026 World Cup.

Al-Hilal, in particular, is closely monitoring these negotiations. The Saudi club is keen to sign the 28-year-old and is willing to offer him an annual salary of €50 million.

It is noteworthy that Raphinha has contributed to 53 goals in 49 matches across all competitions this season, with 30 goals and 23 assists.
