Walid Abdullah, Al-Nasr goalkeeper and close friend of Cristiano Ronaldo, sparked a major controversy after he hinted that the Don might convert to Islam soon.
Walid Abdullah appeared in a Saudi restaurant wearing the Ihram outfit, and the owner of the restaurant asked him about the possibility of Ronaldo converting to Islam.
Abdullah, who is famous for his close relationship with Ronaldo, replied, “God willing, he will accept Islam, and he will come here and eat your food.”
Since joining Al-Nasr in January 2023, Ronaldo has integrated greatly into Saudi society and began using some Arabic words in his speech.
What Walid Abdullah said remains just speculation and wishful thinking, but given his strong relationship with Ronaldo, he may have touched something that made him herald the possibility of him converting to Islam.
It is noteworthy that Ronaldo will continue in Saudi Arabia until the summer of 2025, according to the contract concluded between him and Al-Nasr Club.
