A list published by the American League of players participating in the international break this March did not include the name of Lionel Messi, the star of Inter Miami, who has been suffering from a severe injury in the recent period.
The Argentina national team is scheduled to play two friendly matches during March, the first against El Salvador and the other against Costa Rica, as part of preparations for the 2024 Copa America in America.
Messi missed Inter Miami’s last match against DC United due to the injury he suffered during the match against Nashville in the CONCACAF Champions League.
Messi was not on the list published by the American League, and thus it becomes certain that the injury is still hurting the 36-year-old and that he will not be with coach Lionel Scaloni’s squad in the matches between Costa Rica and El Salvador.
The Argentine Football Association has not yet issued a statement to confirm or deny the information, but the American Association’s list is sufficient to confirm that the flea is not experiencing his best physical conditions and would prefer to rest.
It is noteworthy that Messi will not be the only absence from Argentina during the March stoppage, as Paula Dybala, the recent star with Roma, will be absent due to a muscle injury.
