Kylian Mbappe has sparked controversy over his move to Real Madrid next summer, due to his recent statement about participating with the France Olympic team in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Real Madrid absolutely refuses to allow its players to participate with Thierry Henry’s squad in the Olympics, and the Spanish club even sent an official letter to the French Federation informing it of this decision.
On the other hand, Paris Saint-Germain did not react to the possibility of one of its players participating in the Olympics, and newspapers previously said that Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s management is ready to allow Mbappe to be present if he renews his contract.
When Mbappe was asked at the press conference for the France-Germany match about the possibility of his participation in the Olympics, he replied, “I have always wanted to play in the Olympics, and my desire is still the same and has not changed.”
He also added, “If I play in the Olympics, it will be a dream I have achieved, but if I don’t, I will do what I am told.”
He concluded, “The decision is not in my hands, and so far I have not received approval or rejection.”
At the same time, Mbappe revealed in his speech that he will announce his future and decide it in front of the media in the period before the start of the Euro 2024 competition next June.
Based on everything Mbappe said, the Spanish newspapers considered this to be a direct announcement from the 25-year-old that he would wear the royal shirt next season.
