Luis de la Fuente, coach of the Spanish national team, expressed his extreme anger at the fans of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, which hosted the friendly match between La Roja and Brazil.
Spain tied with Brazil 3-3 in an exciting match that witnessed the fans of Real Madrid’s historic stadium booing Alvaro Morata despite him being Spanish.
The main reason for sounding these whistles is that Morata is active in Atletico Madrid, the eternal rival of Real Madrid, which is hosting the friendly match.
De La Fuente spoke very angrily after the match, saying, “It pains me greatly that they booed a national team player in our stadium.”
He also added, “Morata is our leader and a role model for us. I really feel ashamed when I hear boos against him.”
Meanwhile, Brazil coach Dorival Junior was also surprised by what happened and considered it one of the worst things he had seen in his career.
The reference to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium has always sparked controversy in Spain’s matches, as a number of Barcelona players have previously been booed, most notably Pique.
