Liverpool will lose one of its most important stars this season until the end of 2024 due to injury.

We are talking here about the brilliant centre-back Ibrahima Konate, who was injured during his participation in the Real Madrid match on Wednesday in the Champions League.

In the final minutes of the match that was played at Anfield, substitute Endrick intervened forcefully on Konate, who left the field in pain and needed help to be able to walk.

According to English media, Konate will be away from the stadiums for a period ranging between 5 to 6 weeks, meaning that he will not play again in 2024.

The player posted on his Instagram account, “I feel very frustrated with this injury. Now we have started the recovery process.”

He added, “But the only thing I promise is that I will return and be at my best again.”

In Konate’s absence, manager Arne Slot will have to rely on either Joe Gomez or promising player Jarrell Konassa at the heart of the defence starting against Manchester City on Sunday.

It is worth noting that Konate, 25, has played 18 games in all competitions for Liverpool this season, during which he scored two goals and made another.
