A fiery attacking line.. United is trying to include another giant striker after Zirkzee

English media confirmed that Manchester United management moved to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney during the current summer Mercato.

The Red Devils administration completed the contract with Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, as the Dutch player underwent medical examinations on Friday, and the deal is expected to be officially announced within the next few hours.

The United management’s moves to support the team will not stop there, as now all eyes are on Toney, who is currently participating with the England national team in Euro 2024.

The 28-year-old’s contract with Brentford extends until next summer, which makes negotiation much easier between the two parties and will not make the transfer value great for fear that the player will stay and then leave for free next summer.

According to reports, Toney explicitly informed Brentford management through his agent that he wanted to join Manchester United and urged the club to accept the offer as soon as possible.

Toney will be United’s third signing in the Mercato after Zirkzee, and the second deal, which is in its final stages, is Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich.

It remains to be noted that Manchester United also has Rasmus Højlund in the position of outright striker, and with Toney and Zirkzee, Erik ten Hag will have one of the strongest attacking lines in the Premier League next season.
