A giant coach joins the Saudi League!

The Saudi Al-Shabab club announced the signing of veteran Turkish coach Fatih Terim to succeed the resigned coach Vitor Pereira.

Pereira had left Al-Shabab in order to achieve his dream of coaching in the Premier League after receiving an exciting offer from Wolverhampton to succeed the sacked coach Gary O’Neill.

The Saudi club was linked to many coaches, the most prominent of whom was Manuel Pellegrini, who accepted the job but asked to wait until next summer to move and lead the “Lions”.

Ultimately, the Al-Shabab management decided to go for another option, which is Terim, 71 years old, who is undergoing his first experience in the Arab region.

According to Turkish media, Terim will receive $1.6 million in 6 months during which he will coach Al-Shabab, with a clause allowing the two parties to renew the contract for another year by agreement between them.

The 71-year-old coach is one of the most famous coaches in Europe, especially thanks to his successful experiences with the Turkish national team and Galatasaray, and he also previously worked in Italy with Fiorentina and Milan.

Tarim’s first match in charge of Al-Shabab will be on January 6, against Al-Ahli, in one of the classics of the Saudi League.
