Manchester United’s new owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has confirmed that his club will not attempt to sign Kylian Mbappé in the belief that the move is “not smart”.
Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires next summer, and he can join any club for free, but the cost of contracting with him in terms of salary and bonuses seems very huge.
In light of the expected revolution at Old Trafford with the arrival of Ratcliffe, Manchester United was proposed as a possible destination for the French international, but the new owner has a different opinion.
When asked about Mbappe, Ratcliffe said, “I want to look to create a new Mbappe instead of spending a huge fortune trying to buy success.”
He also added, “It is not smart to sign Mbappe now.”
He concluded, “It is a greater challenge for us to find the new Mbappe, the new Bellingham, or even the new Roy Keane.”
It is noteworthy that Mbappe confirmed in a viral video his refusal to join Arsenal, and with the withdrawal of Manchester United and previously Liverpool, all evidence confirms that the 25-year-old is on his way to Real Madrid.
