Bayern Munich has suffered a major blow after Jamal Musiala’s season with the Bavarian club was confirmed to be over due to injury.
The German international left the Bundesliga match against Augsburg on Friday with what appeared to be a serious injury and underwent comprehensive tests on Saturday.
Sky Sports revealed that tests revealed Musiala had suffered a hamstring tear.
The 22-year-old will need at least eight weeks to recover, effectively ending his season with Bayern Munich.
Musiala is aiming to return during the next international break on June 4 and participate with the German national team in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals.
So far, there is no risk of Musiala missing the 2025 Club World Cup, which is scheduled to kick off on June 14 in the United States.
Musiala has made 40 appearances for Bayern Munich this season, scoring 18 goals and providing eight assists.
