A major surprise in Ronaldo’s contract renewal with Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo will renew his contract with Al-Nassr, according to Saudi media reports, which indicated that the two parties have already agreed on all the details.

The Portuguese’s current contract expires at the end of the current season, and it was reported that he might move to a club participating in the 2025 Club World Cup.

Al-Nassr’s management began negotiations with Ronaldo last December, but the agreement was actually finalized between the two parties in the past few days after a meeting with the recruitment committee.

The surprise is that Ronaldo, 39, will renew his contract with Al-Nassr for two years, not just one year, as all sources previously indicated.

It was reported at the time that Ronaldo wanted to participate with Portugal in the 2026 World Cup and then retire. However, the reality now is that he intends to continue even beyond that.

Ronaldo appears to be planning to reach his 1,000th career goal before retiring, and he realizes that this will take time, in addition to his other dream of playing on the same team as his 15-year-old son.

It’s worth noting that Ronaldo is still searching for his first title with Al-Nassr, but on an individual level, he maintains a significant number of achievements, most notably the most goals scored by a player in a single season in the history of the Saudi League.
