The Mirror newspaper reported that Pep Guardiola will continue to coach Manchester City beyond the summer of 2025.
Most of the media had previously confirmed that the Spanish coach would leave at the end of his contract, and that his current trend was to embark on a new experience with new incentives.
But according to the latest report, Manchester City owner, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, is planning to meet Guardiola in the next few days to discuss renewing his contract.
Perhaps the point that increases the possibility of Guardiola’s continuation is the fact that City’s management is willing to give the Spanish philosopher a very large increase in his salary to convince him to renew.
Guardiola currently earns 20 million pounds annually with City, and this number may double in his new contract with the English club, which enhances the possibility of him continuing at the Etihad Stadium beyond 2025.
City aims to have Guardiola as its coach in the 2025 Club World Cup, which is why negotiations with him began early in the hope of ending this file quickly.
It is worth noting that Guardiola succeeded in winning the English Premier League 6 times with Manchester City, and led them to the first historic Champions League win.
