After a long absence… Arnold is ready to play for Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has announced that Trent Alexander-Arnold is ready to play for the Reds after a long absence due to injury.

The right-back sustained the injury during the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 match against Paris Saint-Germain in early March, which caused him to miss the Carabao Cup final.

According to the Dutch coach, Arnold has recovered and could play for part of Liverpool’s next match against Leicester City, scheduled for next Sunday.

Slot said, “Trent is coming back from injury. He trained with us yesterday, and every time he plays and trains with us, he shows his commitment.”

He continued, “He’s not ready to start, but if things go well today and tomorrow, he could be on the bench.”

At the same time, Slot refused to discuss Arnold’s contract renewal or his imminent move to Real Madrid, indicating that he prefers to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks.

It’s worth noting that Arnold has an agreement with Real Madrid to join the club next summer on a free transfer, unlike his teammates Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, who have renewed their contracts until 2027.
