Barcelona coach, Hansi Flick, confirmed that Frenkie de Jong can participate again and gradually in the Catalan club’s matches.
De Jong has been absent from Barcelona since last April, after suffering 3 ankle injuries over the past six months.
The Dutch international returned to training again in the last two weeks, and was expected to return to participate in matches after the international break.
Barcelona is preparing to face Young Boys in the Champions League, and Flick revealed De Jong’s condition in the press conference, saying, “Frenkie’s return is great news for us, even if he will play for five or ten minutes, the whole team is really happy with his return.”
According to the newspaper “Sport”, Flick is expected to include De Jong in the list for the Young Boys match, and if the match is calm, the player can participate for a few minutes to take the sensitivity of the matches.
