After Arnold.. Real Madrid targets a new star from Liverpool

Real Madrid’s management is once again turning its attention to Liverpool, this time to support the defense line during the upcoming summer Mercato.

The royal club is close to signing right-back Alexander Arnold, whose contract with the Reds expires at the end of the current season.

According to English reports, Real Madrid’s management wants to sign at least a center back next summer, and is currently looking at the option of Ibrahima Konate.

The French international has shone brightly with Liverpool this season, and his price will not be high next summer given that his contract expires in the summer of 2026.

Liverpool’s management is currently trying to renew Konate’s contract, but its first offer to renew was rejected.

As for the 25-year-old, his decision to stay with the Reds or leave remains unknown, noting that he has confirmed more than once his happiness with his experience at Anfield and his feeling of comfort there.

If he joins Real, Konate will be guaranteed regular participation given that only Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are in this position, alongside the young Raul Asensio and the already injured Eder Militano.
