Talk about a replacement deal for Toni Kroos has been the focus of Real Madrid’s management discussions since last summer, and it seems that the royal club has finally settled on the identity of the player it wants.
Kroos has left a clear void in Real’s midfield, since his retirement it has become clear that Carlo Ancelotti’s squad needs a player with creativity and a different vision for the pitch.
According to the newspaper “AS”, Real Madrid’s management has chosen Martin Zubimendi to be Kroos’ successor at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The current Real Sociedad star has shown everything that confirms that he has the necessary capabilities to support Real’s midfield, as he has the same DNA as Kroos, Xabi Alonso and Manchester City star Rodri.
Signing Zubimendi will not be expensive, as the player has a release clause of 60 million euros in his contract with the Basque club, but Real first needs to convince the player to leave.
Zubimendi rejected a move to Liverpool last summer despite receiving a large financial offer, partly due to his loyalty to the Anoeta Stadium team.
At the same time, the player recently made statements confirming that his future is open to all options, including a move to Liverpool if the Reds come back and contact him again.
