Bayern Munich received a major blow after Ralf Rangnick refused to take charge of coaching the Bavarian club, despite the initial agreement he expressed in recent days.
According to German media, Rangnick informed Bayern officials on Thursday of his rejection of the offer for family reasons and his decision to continue as coach of the Austrian national team.
Rangnick is considered the third coach to refuse to succeed Thomas Tuchel as coach of the Bavarian club, after Xabi Alonso, coach of Bayer Leverkusen, and Julian Nagelsmann, coach of the German national team.
Bayern’s management began to think about the alternative plan, which is to hire a young coach and start a new project with him, provided that he is able to develop young players.
According to some reports, the name of Real Madrid youth coach and Royal Club legend, Raul Gonzalez, has appeared frequently on the offices of the German club in recent hours.
Perhaps Alonso’s experience is what motivates Bayern’s management to sign the Spanish coach, given that he followed the same approach as the coach who won the first Bundesliga title in Leverkusen’s history.
Raul is not the only option that Bayern’s management is considering, as there are other options such as Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness, as well as Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbe.
It is noteworthy that Raul has good experience in German football after playing for years with Schalke, and was a candidate this season to coach Union Berlin at the beginning of the season.
