Press reports have spoken of great interest from Al Hilal Saudi Arabia in contracting with one of Liverpool’s stars, whether this winter or in the upcoming summer Mercato.
Al Hilal has already been linked with contracting with Mohamed Salah, whose contract expires at the end of the current season and has not yet made a decision on his next destination.
According to English reports, Al Hilal wants to contract with Darwin Nunez before the Club World Cup, based on the desire of coach Jorge Jesus.
Nunez previously worked with Jesus when they were together at Benfica, where the Uruguayan player’s abilities exploded and he then moved to Liverpool for 80 million euros.
As for the Liverpool management, it does not mind Nunez leaving, but it stipulates obtaining at least 85 million euros, which is the only obstacle to completing this deal.
It is true that Saudi clubs have huge amounts of money, but there are doubts about Al Hilal’s intention to pay such a large amount for Nunez, especially with his decline in level in the last two seasons.
The 25-year-old is not participating with the Reds this season, as he played only 26 matches this season in all competitions (most of them as a substitute), during which he scored 4 goals and made the same number.
