After the assault on the Galatasaray coach, Mourinho receives a significant offer!

Brazilian media reported that Fenerbahçe coach Jose Mourinho is on the list of candidates to succeed Dorival Junior as coach of the Brazilian national team.

The Portuguese coach was the subject of a controversial incident hours ago, when he assaulted the Galatasaray coach in the Istanbul derby. He is also facing several crises in Turkey that could hasten his departure at the end of the current season.

According to recent reports, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) still hopes to sign Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, but recently, Mourinho has been proposed as a more realistic option, in addition to officials’ belief that the “Special One” is an ideal choice to restore the Seleção to the top.

This is not the first time the CBF has shown interest in Mourinho. He was the leading candidate before Dorival Junior took over in 2023, but the Portuguese chose to remain with Roma for another year.

In addition to Mourinho and Ancelotti, Brazil is considering Jorge Jesus, coach of Saudi club Al-Hilal, Abel Ferreira, coach of Palmeiras, and Manuel Pellegrini, coach of Real Betis, as other potential candidates to lead Brazil.

Mourinho has previously expressed his intention to coach a national team and participate in the World Cup, but he has not announced when he will take this step, given that his current contract with Fenerbahçe still extends until the summer of 2026.
