Sky Sports reported that Carlo Ancelotti is on the verge of leaving Real Madrid and heading to coach the Brazilian national team.
Ancelotti lost another title with Real Madrid after losing the Copa del Rey final to Barcelona 3-2 at La Cartuja Stadium.
According to the latest report, Ancelotti’s dismissal could happen next week, even before Real Madrid plays the La Liga El Clásico, scheduled for May 12.
Meanwhile, Brazilian Football Confederation officials are still in Madrid, and there are very positive talks with Ancelotti about taking over as coach of the Seleção.
It is currently certain that the Italian coach will not coach Real Madrid in the 2025 Club World Cup.
At the same time, there is disagreement over the timing of his dismissal. Some within Real Madrid’s management believe he will leave immediately, or after the Celta Vigo match and before El Clásico. Others believe he will stay until the end of the current season.
In either case, Santiago Solari will coach Real Madrid in the 2025 Club World Cup, unless Xabi Alonso arrives early from Bayer Leverkusen.
