For the first time in his career, Kylian Mbappé succeeded in scoring a goal for the French national team in the European Nations Cup competition, after he scored a goal for Didier Deschamps’ squad against Poland in Euro 2024.
Mbappe previously participated in Euro 2020, but over the course of 4 matches, he did not succeed in scoring against any opponent, and his participation in Euro 2024 is considered his second in his career.
Mbappe did not succeed in scoring during Austria’s first match against France in the competition held in Germany, then he missed the second Netherlands match due to injury.
In the third match, Mbappe broke his Euro knot, and was finally able to score a goal after converting a penalty kick against Poland in the match held at Signal Iduna Park.
Mbappe will play the match wearing a mask to protect his nose, which was broken in the Austria match and requires surgical intervention, which was postponed until the end of Euro 2024.
