Ahmed Fattouh released

The Matrouh Criminal Court released Zamalek player Ahmed Fattouh after his trial session on Monday evening.

Fattouh is being tried on charges of manslaughter and drug use after causing the death of a police officer on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road.

Fattouh ran over the police officer with his car, who died instantly. The speed of the Zamalek player’s car at the time of the collision caused the victim’s body to split in two.

Fattouh’s lawyer demanded the player’s release so that he could negotiate with the deceased’s family to pay the blood money for manslaughter and close the case.

The Matrouh Criminal Court decided to release Fattouh on bail of 50,000 pounds, and the case will be reconsidered in the session of October 22.

It is worth noting that Fattouh underwent a drug test after the incident, which proved that he had used hashish, which exposes him to a prison sentence and a fine even if he succeeds in reaching an agreement with the victim’s family on the blood money.
