Zamalek star Ahmed Sayed Zizo is on the brink of joining Al Ahly on a free transfer at the end of the current season.
The player has been in negotiations with Zamalek for the past year to renew his contract, but the dispute between the two parties has always been over the financial compensation.
With the recent increase in pressure, Zizo broke his silence and expressed his deep anger at Zamalek officials and how they treated him and his father.
In a statement, Zizo said that he has not signed with any club yet, but he asked Zamalek officials to speak directly to him only and not leak any news to the media.
In another interview with journalist Hany Hathout, Zizo hinted that he had finalized the agreement with Al Ahly and said that the idea of joining the Red Castle was still possible and that his father had not received the treatment he deserved from the Zamalek management.
In Zamalek’s first reaction, coach José Peseiro excluded the player from the second leg of the 2025 CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal match against Stalenbosch.
According to media reports, Zamalek is certain that Zizo signed for Al Ahly on March 12 at the home of President Mahmoud El Khatib, and that the club is considering freezing him until the end of the season.
Confirmations increased with the release of a photo of Zizo from the US Embassy in Egypt attempting to obtain a visa, a further indication that he will participate with the Red Devils in the upcoming Club World Cup.
