Al-Ahly player Khaled Abdel Fattah apologized to the management and fans of Al-Ahly for congratulating Marawan Hamdi on his birthday.
Marawan Hamdi is a Pyramids player, and cameras captured a clip of him last season insulting Al-Ahly, and the Red Club filed an official complaint against him.
Abdel Fattah played with Marawan Hamdi at Smouha, and on the occasion of his birthday, he published photos of them together and congratulated him, so the fans attacked him, considering that the Pyramids striker is one of Al-Ahly’s “enemies”.
According to Egyptian media, Khaled Abdel Fattah received a huge reprimand from Al-Ahly’s sports director, Mohamed Ramadan, who confirmed that dealing with Marawan Hamdi inside the Red Castle is completely prohibited.
After what Abdel Fattah was exposed to, he deleted the photo and then Al-Ahly published an official statement on behalf of the player apologizing to everyone for what he did.
The situation remains very strange and some see Al-Ahly exaggerating in reprimanding the player and issuing an official statement just to congratulate the player, even if the other party has a bad relationship with the club.
But at the same time, Al-Ahly considers that Marawan Hamdy insulted the club, and therefore it is forbidden for any player or administrator to deal with him no matter the cost.
