Al-Ahly rejects a historic offer to sell its star in January!

Al-Ahly refused to dispense with Wissam Abu Ali in the current winter transfer period, despite the presence of more than one major offer for him.

This is what Swedish press reports stated, claiming that the Palestinian international received two major offers, one from the Qatari league and the other from Europe.

According to the reports, one of the offers was worth twice what Al-Ahly paid to contract with Abu Ali last year from Swedish Sirius.

Al-Ahly had bought the 25-year-old for 1.7 million euros, meaning that it received an offer to sell him for more than 3 million euros, or about 200 million Egyptian pounds.

Despite the financial temptation, Mahmoud Al-Khatib’s administration refused to let go of Abu Ali, and considers him one of the most important elements that cannot be replaced, no matter what the price of his departure.

Al-Ahly is counting on Abu Ali to lead the team in the upcoming Club World Cup, and thus there is no intention to sell him at all, especially since he is currently the only striker in coach Marcel Koller’s squad.

It is noteworthy that since joining Al-Ahly, Abu Ali has played 43 matches in all tournaments, during which he scored 27 goals and made 8 assists, and was crowned with the Egyptian League, the African Champions League and the local Super Cup.
