Ali Al-Bulaihi, Al-Hilal’s defender, provoked Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nasr’s star, throughout the two teams’ match in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final, and even extended after it as well.
Ronaldo received the red card after assaulting Al-Bulaihi 4 minutes before the end of the match, which ended in favor of Al-Hilal with a score of 2-1.
According to a video spread on social media, Al-Bulaihi had been provoking Ronaldo for a while before the expulsion, and the “Don” even pushed him after he directed some words at him that aroused his anger.
Al-Bulaihi almost responded to Ronaldo’s push, had it not been for Milinkovic-Savic’s intervention and preventing him from assaulting the Portuguese star.
A few minutes later, what happened happened and Ronaldo got the red card. What is interesting is that after the match, Al-Bulaihi also continued the provocation, but this time with statements to the media.
When Al-Bulaihi was asked about the incident after the match, he told reporters, “I tell Cristiano that he will arrive safely, God willing,” referring to Al-Nasr’s failure to achieve the Super Cup and return to Saudi Arabia.
It is noteworthy that Al Hilal will set a date with Al-Ittihad for the fifth time this season, but this time in the Super Cup final, next Thursday.
