Al-Hilal Decides to Dismiss Jesus, and Two Names Are Considered for His Successor

Saudi media outlets are reporting that Al-Hilal is considering dismissing coach Jorge Jesus following the recent 2-1 defeat to Al-Nassr in the Saudi League.

The Blue Wave’s chances of winning the Saudi League title have diminished following the derby loss, as the gap with leaders Al-Ittihad has widened to five points with just eight rounds remaining.

Recent reports have spoken of widespread anger within the Al-Hilal management over Jesus’s management of the Al-Nassr match and the season in general, with all opinions unanimously agreeing that the time has come to dismiss the Portuguese.

At the same time, Jesus is not overly concerned about the decision to leave, and in fact, he favors it. He is currently seeking to reach an agreement with Al-Hilal to terminate his contract by mutual consent so he can immediately take over as coach of the Brazilian national team.

Al-Hilal’s Saudi management has begun negotiating with several coaches in recent hours.

The first name is Razvan Lucescu, who previously coached Al Hilal in 2019 and currently works with Greek club PAOK.

The second name is former Brazil national team coach Tite, whose position on accepting the Saudi offer remains unknown.

The Al Hilal management is seeking to resolve this matter quickly so that the new coach can work with the players for a good period before the start of the most important event, the 2025 Club World Cup.

It is worth noting that Al Hilal is still competing for the AFC Champions League title after reaching the quarter-finals, but was eliminated from the King’s Cup in the quarter-finals by Al Ittihad, effectively losing the Saudi League title.
