Spanish newspaper “Sport” has reported that Al-Hilal has withdrawn from the race to sign Barcelona star Vitor Roque this summer.
According to Saudi media, Al-Hilal submitted two offers for Roque over the past two weeks, but the Brazilian player rejected them both.
According to “Sport,” Al-Hilal has completely closed the door on signing Roque after the player informed them of his astronomical financial demands, which the club cannot currently meet.
The newspaper did not mention the salary that Roque requested, but according to some reports, he wants more than 25 million euros per year.
As for the player, he wants to stay in Europe primarily, and will only move to Saudi Arabia if the salary is “legendary,” according to Sport.
For this reason, Al-Hilal’s management has decided to look for other options of the same age as Roque, who is 19 years old.
Roque’s future remains uncertain. Barcelona wants to get rid of him, but it is difficult for a European club to pay the 40 million euros that Barca is seeking from his sale.
