Al Nassr defender Aymeric Laporte is trying to convince his club’s management to terminate the contract between them so that he can move to Real Madrid this summer.
This was stated by the newspaper “AS” which confirmed that Real Madrid informed the Spanish defender that the only way for him to join Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is to be available for free.
Ancelotti had previously announced that Real Madrid will not be making any other deals this summer, which the club also emphasizes, as it does not intend to take any crazy steps.
However, at the same time, Real Madrid welcomes the addition of Laporte thanks to his quality and experience, on the condition that the deal is free and does not cost the club’s coffers anything but the player’s salary.
This vision was clearly conveyed to Laporte, who held a meeting with sports director Fernando Hierro, coach Luis Castro, and club president Ibrahim Al-Mahidib, to request permission to move to the Merengues.
Laporte’s contract extends until the summer of 2026 with Al Nassr, and if he wants to leave, he must waive a large part of his salary in the hope that the Saudi club’s management will continue to terminate the contract.
Laporte will secure a starting spot at Real Madrid if he joins due to the big crisis in the center-back position, but the current obstacle is Al Nassr, who has not yet made a final decision on the player’s future.
