Egyptian media reported that Jordanian star Musa Al-Taamari, a Montpellier player, agreed to move to Al-Ahly during the current winter Mercato.
In the past hours, the Egyptian club officials contacted Al-Taamari, who welcomed joining the Cairo giant on loan until the end of the season.
One of the biggest incentives for Al-Taamari to accept the idea of returning to the Arab region and playing for Al-Ahly was that this would allow him to participate in the 2025 Club World Cup.
However, there is only one obstacle to completing the deal, which is Montpellier.
The French club does not mind Al-Taamari leaving, but it stipulates that it be a final sale and not a loan.
Montpellier’s demands seem impossible to achieve for Al-Ahly, as it at least wants to obtain between 5 and 10 million dollars to accept the sale of the brilliant right winger.
In any case, Al-Ahly will continue its efforts to reach a solution with Montpellier in line with its financial capabilities, especially since the deal is very appealing to the management and fans of the historic Egyptian club.
