The Spain national team found itself in major trouble before the Euro 2024 final after captain Alvaro Morata was injured due to an intervention by a security member at the Allianz Arena.
Morata was celebrating with his teammates the victory over France 2-1 and reaching the final match, and during those moments a fan stormed the field, and was quickly dealt with by the security forces.
But unfortunately for the Atletico Madrid star, one of the security personnel slipped while trying to arrest the fan who invaded the stadium and collided with Morata, who fell to the ground and suffered pain in his right knee.
According to what was announced by coach Luis de la Fuente, Morata will undergo careful medical examinations on Wednesday to check on his knee and determine his position on participating in the final or not.
Optimism prevails within Spain that the matter is not serious and that the 31-year-old Morata is fine, and in the worst case scenario he will be on the bench in the final match.
It is noteworthy that Morata scored one goal in Euro 2024, and he is the current generation player in the Euro who has scored the most goals in the tournament throughout history, with 7 goals.
