Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim expressed his deep disappointment after the 3-1 home defeat to Brighton, considering the current team to be the “worst team” in the history of the Red Devils.
Manchester United dropped to 13th in the Premier League table, after suffering a sixth home defeat this season, the most home defeats for the team in the first 12 league matches since the 1893/1894 season.
Amorim spoke to the media after the match, saying: “We have won only two games in 10 Premier League games, imagine what that means to Manchester United fans. Imagine what that means to me.”
He added: “As I said, I will not change, no matter what. I know we can succeed, but we need to stand firm at this moment.”
He continued: “I am not naive and I know that standing firm is the solution now.”
“We are probably the worst team in the history of Manchester United. I know you want the headlines, but I say that because we need to acknowledge that and change it,” he continued.
“Obviously we will need some time to change things, I will not change my technical style, I am very clear about that, the players will suffer and also the fans, I am sorry for them.”
